Residential Load Control
Advances in internet technology and proliferation of internet services has made the internet the perfect medium to deliver energy management services to residential customers. UGS has developed an internet based load control system which has a number of key advantages over legacy systems:

- Expandable to AMR
- Expandable to control water heaters, air conditioning, heat pumps, pool motors
In situations where internet services are not available to the home, UGS has developed a hybrid cellular/wireless solution which gets the control signal into the home.
Co-generation Plant Operating Economics
UGS has developed a specialized system for monitoring cogen plant operation and providing real time cost feedback to optimize plant output. The UGSProfiler system monitors plant gas usage, electrical and thermal output, and market electricity prices. The economics of operating the plant is calculated every 5 minutes and the UGS reports indicate when it is advantageous to run the plant or purchase power from the grid.
